BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- A concert featuring Chinese folk singers will hit the stage on June 7 in Beijing to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
More than 100 tenors from across China will perform representative Chinese national vocal music created after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
"Folk singing is the treasure of Chinese vocal music, and tenors are of great importance to folk singing," said Yu Junjian, chief planner of the concert.
A number of well-known tenors including Lyu Jihong, Wang Hongwei and Huang Xunguo will attend the concert.
