HEFEI, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Title favorite Inner Mongolia overwhelmed Sichuan 93-61 to reach the final in the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) in Bengbu, east China's Anhui province on Tuesday.
Yang Liwei and Huang Sijing scored 16 and 10 points respectively in the first half to power Inner Mongolia 44-37 ahead before the break.
Boasting four Chinese national team players, Inner Mongolia staged a dominant performance after the interval and limited Sichuan to only 24 points in the second half.
National team center Li Yueru shot 10 of 17 from the field and contributed a game-high 23 points and 15 rebounds in 34 minutes for Inner Mongolia. Shao Ting and Zhang Wanglai both nailed 17 points for Sichuan.
Despite the win, Yang was not satisfied with her performance. The 25-year-old had 21 points and 11 assist, but six turnovers.
"It's a win-or-go-home game, so everyone did their best. I'm supposed to take more responsibility as a senior player and that's what I did tonight," she said.
Inner Mongolia will face Xinjiang in the final which starts on Friday in a best-of-three format. Enditem
