CHANGCHUN, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- A new air freight route was launched Friday linking Yanji City, northeast China's Jilin Province, and Incheon City in the Republic of Korea (ROK), according to the authorities of Yanji, capital of the Korean Autonomous Prefecture of Yanbian.
The all-cargo air route is operated by a Boeing 737-300F aircraft every Wednesday and Friday until March 25, 2020, with a loading capacity of about 10 tonnes. The flight time is about two hours.
"The route opened an air freight channel between Yanbian and ROK, reducing the cost of traditional logistics," said Li Fuxiang, director of the administrative committee of the Yanji International Airport Economic Development Zone.
ROK has become Yanbian's largest source of investment and second largest trading partner. In the first three quarters of this year, Yanbian's trade volume with ROK reached 1.4 billion U.S. dollars, up 9 percent year on year.
