BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- A press conference unveiling the first batch of achievements of a Chinese folk literature publication project was held Wednesday in Beijing.
The project, spearheaded by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, aims to collect and publish original pieces of oral folk literature and related theories and improve the database for oral literature heritage.
The first batch of achievements include 12 volumes folk literature works, such as myths from southwest China's Yunnan Province, epics from northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, ballads from southwest China's Sichuan Province and adages from north China's Hebei Province, as well as more than 300 pictures and audio and video clips.
A book donation ceremony was held at the press conference, with institutions including the National Library of China, Peking University and Tsinghua University receiving the donation.
