PUL-E-ALAM, Afghanistan, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- At total of five militants were confirmed dead as fighting planes struck a Taliban hideout in Baraki Barak district of Afghanistan's eastern Logar province on Saturday, said an army press release Sunday.
The airstrikes were conducted in Dasht-e-khaka area of the restive district late Saturday night, killing five armed insurgents on the spot, said the release.
A car of the insurgents was also destroyed in the raids, it added.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of Logar province have not commented.
