MUMBAI, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- India has shortlisted 15 films for the Golden Peacock award at 50th International Film Festival of India to be held in the western state of Goa from Nov. 20-28, a statement issued by Mumbai government's press bureau said late Friday.
These 15 films were selected from 700 entries received from about 20 countries.
Two Indian languages film - Mai Ghat: Crime No. 103/2005 in Marathi directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan and Malayalam film Jallikattu directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery are competing at the film festival among 15 films, the statement said.
The films will be reviewed by renowned cinematographer and former President of the U.S.-based Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, John Bailey, who will chair the panel of international jury at the film festival.
French filmmaker Robin Campillo who was also a member of the Cannes International Jury 2019, renowned Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yang and Lynne Ramsay, who is one of the leading lights of young British cinema will be the co-jurors while eminent filmmaker, Ramesh Sippy is the Indian member on the panel, the statement said.
