ISLAMABAD, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- At least 19 people were killed and over 120 others injured on Tuesday after a 5.8-magnitude earthquake hit Mirpur district of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, police told local media.
Senior Superintendent of Police of Mirpur Muhammad Rizwan told media that eight bodies have been shifted to hospitals while 11 others are still present in Jatlan, the worst affected town of the district.
The official feared that the death toll might further rise as scores of others are still trapped under the debris of the collapsed buildings in the town.
