Wang Weihua (R) and a member of a planting cooperative pick grapes at a vineyard in Laoaozhuang Village of Weizhai Community, Chang'an District, Xi'an, capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Aug. 21, 2019. Wang Weihua once worked in Xi'an after graduation from college. In 2010, she decided to return to her hometown Laoaozhuang Village and started to plant grape with all her savings. At the beginning of her business, Wang's vineyard suffered heavy losses because of natural disasters and pests. She, however, didn't give up and improved the quality of grapes constantly. At present, Wang has grown more than 20 varieties of grapes and had over 1000 customers. Meanwhile, her business inspired villagers to plant grapes. The grape plantation area in the village has reached about 1000 mu (about 66.67 hectares), which helped 43 households get rid of poverty. (Xinhua/Shao Rui)
