VIENTIANE, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- The movie named "Champa Blossoms" jointly produced by China and Laos has been publicly shown since Thursday across Laos.
A ceremony was held in Lao capital Vientiane on Wednesday to start the screening of the film.
It is a great pleasure to celebrate the friendship between Laos and China, and the Year of Visiting Laos and China 2019 to start the publicly playing of the jointly produced film, Vithoun Soundara, director general of the Cinema Department under the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, said at the Wednesday ceremony.
According to the Lao official, the film shows the friendly and cooperative relationship between Laos and China, explains the profound historical significance of the friendship and unity between the two countries, and presents the beautiful and charming natural, historical and cultural tourism scenery of Laos to the audience.
Being the first movie jointly produced by China and Laos, "Champa Blossoms" is of great significance in promoting exchanges in tourism and cultural areas between the two countries.
Shooting started in 2016, the movie "Champa Blossoms", co-starred by Chinese and Lao actors and actresses, tells beautiful love stories between Lao and Chinese nationals, and show the friendly relations between the two countries as well as their sceneries and cultural features.
