GHAZNI, Afghanistan, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Personnel of Afghan law enforcement agencies had busted a terror group in the country's eastern Ghazni province, provincial government spokesman confirmed Sunday.
"Personnel of National Directorate of Security (NDS) have busted a terrorist group of Taliban outfit during recent operations in surrounding areas of provincial capital Ghazni city. A total of seven arrests were made during the raids," Harif Noori told reporters.
The NDS is the country's national intelligence agency.
"The captives tried to conduct targeted attacks and terror activities in the city and adjoining areas. The group was involved in a series of targeted shooting attacks against security forces," the official noted.
The security forces also seized several silenced pistols and guns during the raids.
The Taliban militant group has not made a comment on the report so far.
