PUL-E-ALAM, Afghanistan, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces launched well-coordinated operations in Baraki Barak district of the eastern Logar province on Tuesday, killing eight armed militants and destroying a training center of suicide bombers, said an army statement released on Wednesday.
The operations launched on Tuesday morning against a Taliban hideout in Tagab area of the restive Baraki Barak district and lasted for a while during which, eight armed insurgents were killed and a training center for suicide bombers was completely destroyed, said the statement.
Two local commanders of the Taliban outfit namely Mullah Naqib and Khalid are also among those killed in the raid.
It further added that the security forces also destroyed a large number of arms and explosive objects.
The militants operating against government forces in the area have not commented.
