Nutrient, crunchy and flavorful, walnut with red kernels are brightening the walnut market for farmers in northwest China's Luonan.
LUONAN, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Luonan, a traditional walnut planting county in northwest China's Shaanxi, possesses 700,000 mu (46666 hectares) walnut planting area.
The variety of walnut with red kernels was brought in to Luonan at the end of 2015 and now 1200 mu (80 hectares) of standardized farming demonstration base has been set up to help local low-income families get out of poverty.
