MAHMOD-E-RAQI, Afghanistan, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Militants affiliated to the Taliban outfit have killed two relatives of a local policeman and wounded another in Afghanistan's eastern Kapisa province, local police said Monday.
The incident happened early Monday morning when Taliban militants shot and killed two shopkeepers and injured another on the charge of having a relationship with a local policeman in Tagab district township, provincial police spokesman Abdul Shayeq Shurash told Xinhua.
The militants used pistols with a silencer in the murder of the couple inside their shops selling watermelon, the police official said.
The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since early April when the militant group launched its annual rebel offensive in different places of the country, which had claimed hundreds of lives including militants, security personnel and civilians.
