TOKYO, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened mixed Thursday as Wall Street's solid lead overnight was countered by concerns over the United States' latest tariff issues with Mexico.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 17.79 points, or 0.09 percent, from Wednesday to 20,793.89.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 2.46 points, or 0.16 percent, at 1,527.62.
Air transportation, information and communications issues led notable advancers, while iron and steel, as well as oil and coal product issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
