KAMPALA, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Ivan Nedelko won the men's singles title at the 2019 International Tennis Federation World Tennis Pro Circuit 3 here on Monday.
Nedelko, who also won the first two circuits, defeated Lebanon's Giovani Samaha to win the title at the Kampala Club Tennis Club.
Nedelko won the first set 6-3 before rain interrupted proceedings and play was moved to a different venue.
The Russian started on a high, and with the game tied at 1-1, Samaha sustained an injury and withdrew from the contest.
"I am glad that I have managed to win all three trophies in Uganda, and these tournaments have helped me prepare well for other events in Europe," Nedelko told Xinhua after the game.
Samaha, who battled through the qualifiers to make the main draw, shocked Ireland's Simon Carr 6-4, 7-6 in the semifinals, while Nedelko saw off Abhinav Sanjeev Shanmugam of India 6-0, 6-3.
In the men's doubles final, Bradley Julian of Ireland and Guy Orly Iradukunda of Burundi defeated India's top seeded pair of Chandrasekar Anirudh and Kaliyanda Poonacha Nike 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.
