HAVANA, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Tuesday ratified the island's zero-tolerance policy towards illicit drugs and money laundering.
Rodriguez tweeted that the country is preventing and combating drug trafficking and money laundering, which "attests to the political will of the state."
"Cuba maintains its zero-tolerance policy on the production, consumption and trafficking of drugs," he added.
In 2018, Cuba seized 2.43 tons of drugs, mostly packaged marijuana abandoned by international drug traffickers at sea or close to Cuba's coast although Cuba was not the intended destination, according to the ministry of the interior.
The ministry said the amount of illicit drugs seized last year is the smallest in the past three years. Enditem
