NAY PYI TAW, March 20 (Xinhua) -- About 476.68 million Euros (541.5 million U.S. dollars) were earned from the sale of 5,601 jade, gems and pearl lots at Myanmar's 56th gems emporium which concluded on Wednesday, U Than Zaw Oo, chair of Gems Emporium Organizing Committee told the press conference.
Of them, 69 gems lots and 269 pearl lots were sold at the 10-day emporium which started on March 11.
Meanwhile, a 10.589 million Euros (12.02 million U.S. dollars) worth of jade lot, which is the most expensive jade lot, was also sold out, along with other 5,262 jade lots.
A total of 7,747 lots including 274 pearl lots, 500 gems lots and 6,973 jade lots were put on sale under the open tender system at the annual emporium.
The emporium attracted 4,561 local and foreign merchants including 2,880 traders from China.
Myanmar gems emporium has been held annually since 1964 under the management of the Ministry of Natural Resource and Environmental Conservation.
About 499.6 million U.S. dollars worth of jade, gems and pearl lots were sold at the 55th Myanmar Gems Emporium held in June 2018.
