BEIRUT, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Polish Ambassador to Lebanon Przemyslaw Niesiolowski announced the launching of direct flights between Warsaw and Beirut starting June 2019, local media reported on Wednesday.
"Direct flights between Warsaw and Beirut will contribute to boosting economic relations between Poland and Lebanon while it will have positive effects on the economic, social, touristic and cultural levels between the two countries," Niesiolowski was quoted as saying by the National News Agency.
The Polish ambassador added that relations between Lebanon and Poland are very strong and will continue to grow with this new step.
His remarks came during a launching event held in Beirut to celebrate the occasion.
Meanwhile, Lebanon's Tourism Minister Avedis Guidanian emphasized the importance of this step for both countries.
"This new step will enable us to reach our targeted tourism growth in favor of both countries," he said.
