TOKYO, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Tuesday morning following Wall Street's overnight decline and investors taking profits after the Nikkei closed at a three-month high a day earlier.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 131.98 points, or 0.60 percent, from Monday to 21,690.06.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 13.01 points, or 0.80 percent, at 1,614.58.
Mining, iron and steel, and rubber product-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
