JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Four local Islamic State (IS) militants have been arrested following an Afghan forces' operation in the country's eastern Nangarhar province, provincial governor office said in a statement released here Friday.
Afghan forces launched a search operation late on Thursday night in Surkhrod district of the province, and arrested four IS militants, named Qari Naem alias Shahid, Abdul Rauf, Shirin Agha and Ajmal and confiscated all their arms and ammunition during the crackdown, the statement added.
Some propaganda documents including leaflets in support of the group were also seized, the statement said.
The IS outfit has yet to make comment on the report.
