NEW DELHI, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Shaktikanta Das, India's former finance secretary and current member of the Finance Commission, has been appointed as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), said media reports Tuesday.
The RBI is the country's central bank.
Das replaces Urjit Patel who had stepped down as RBI Governor on Monday citing "personal reasons."
