SUVA, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Legal practitioners gathered on Friday to attend the 20th Attorney General Conference at Nadi, the third largest city of Fiji, discussing ways to improve the legal fraternity in Fiji, according to local media.
Fijian President Jioji Konrote said at the opening of the two-day conference that the platform is a meeting of minds. He applauded the legal fraternity for their work over the years.
"It's a premium gathering of both legal practitioners and the legal curious in Fiji. This event serves as a meeting of the minds that belong to some of our most forward-thinking and influential experts in law, society and business."
Konrote told the 600 participants that this sort of conference gives an opportunity for legal practitioners to network with other relevant stakeholders.
"And for those of you here, your responsibility is much greater, and the steps to achieving a brighter future for law in Fiji are much more ambitious. You are not spectators to the law. You are the final arbiters for change," he added.
