BEIRUT, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- An official of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) said Thursday that the agency will renovate shops and facades of houses in Souq Al Attarin in Tripoli city of Lebanon, local media reported.
"This renovation work will be implemented by the UNDP in a project targeting countries that are hosting Syrian refugees in cooperation with Lebanon's Ministry of Social Affairs with 800,000 U.S. dollars fund by the British government," UNDP's North District Director Alain Shatri was quoted by the National News Agency as saying.
Shatri's remarks came during his visit along with a delegation from UNDP to the area. Souq Al Attarin in Tripoli is an old market that sells perfumes and spices.
