JAKARTA, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- A total of 498 chess players from five countries are competing in a chess tournament in Indonesia's capital of Jakarta.
The JAFFA Chess Festival is being held in the Wisma Kemenpora building and was opened on Tuesday by the Indonesian Youth and Sport Minister Imam Nahrawi.
The event is scheduled to end on November 17. The five countries sending their players to the event are Malaysia, India, Australia, the Philippines and hosts Indonesia.
The event offers a total of 12,564 U.S. dollars in prize money, according to the country's chess association.
During this event, Indonesian Grand Master Median Aulia will face Grand Master Jenelle Frayne from the Philippines.
