KABUL, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of protestors staged a peaceful rally in Kabul and gathered in front of Presidential Palace on Monday calling upon the president to take immediate action against attacking militants in Jaghori and Malestan districts of the eastern Ghazni province.
Taliban militants in a surprise move stormed security checkpoints in the peaceful Jaghori district on Wednesday and since then fighting has been continuing in Jaghori and the neighboring Malestan districts which have claimed dozens of lives besides rendering scores of people homeless.
To push for fulfiling their demands, the protestors gathered in front of Presidential Palace Monday morning and is expected to issue a resolution on how to deal with the situation and their next step if the government fails to meet the demand.
