WUHAN, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese runners won the women's marathon and men's half course titles in Mt. Mulan Marathon in Huangpi, Wuhan on Sunday.
Yao Miao of China clocked her winning time of two hours 43 minutes and two seconds in the women's 42.195km event. Edinahjerotich Kwambai of Kenya finished second in 2:52:12, followed by Byambaakhaliunaa of Mongolia in 2:53:58.
Jia Erenjia of China triumphed in the men's half marathon in 1:14:05, followed by Kendeya Tesfay of Ethiopia in 1:15:37 and Feng Mingyuan of China in 1:17:01.
The men's marathon title went to Gansukhbaterdene of Mongolia in 2:30:58, who beat the Chinese pair of Qi Min and Yin Shunjin to second and third in 2:31:16 and 2:31:54 respectively.
Jelaget Lilian of Kenya won the women's half marathon in 1:14:05, followed by Namjilsurensemjid of Mongolia in 1:27:15 and Zhang Kaiqin of China in 1:29:03.
"The race course is so beautiful and running here is kind of enjoyment for me. I almost forgot that I was competing in a marathon," said Gansukhbaterdene.
Huangpi, the venue of the event, is famous for the largest urban ecological landscape in central China.
