YOKOHAMA, Japan, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 FIVB Volleyball World Cup will be held in Japan from September 14 to October 15, the organizers announced here on Saturday.
The dates were announced by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) President Ary S. Graca and Japan Volleyball Association President Kenji Shimaoka ahead of the finals of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship at the Yokohama Arena.
The women's tournament will be held from September 14 to 29 in 2019, featuring 12 teams including the hosts, and the men's competition, also played by 12 teams, will take place from October 1 to 15.
The FIVB Volleyball World Cup is one of the three major volleyball championships in the world, and Japan has been hosting every edition of the tournament since 1977.
