TOKYO, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Friday reversing earlier deficits triggered by an overnight global rout on buying and was in later trade prompted by robust Asian markets.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 103.80 points, or 0.46 percent, from Thursday to close the day at 22,694.66.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 0.59 points, or 0.03 percent, to finish at 1,702.45.
Miscellaneous product, machinery and information and communication-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
