WUHAN, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- The third Xianning International Spring Marathon is set to be held on November 11 in central China's Xianning in Hubei province, organizers announced on Thursday.
According to the organizing committee, this year's competition includes three events; the full marathon, the half marathon, and the mini marathon. The race can accommodate a capacity of 10,000 runners. 5,000 runners are expected for the mini marathon and 2,000-3,000 runners will likely take part in the full marathon and half marathon respectively.
Participants in the full marathon must be over 20 years of age and half marathon participants must be over 16.
There is no age limit for the mini marathon; but entrants under the age of 12 require the presence of a parent or a guardian. The competition is now open for registration and the highest win-bonus for the top runners is 20,000 yuan (about 3,000 U.S. dollars).
Xianning, known for its spring water, is located in southeast Hubei province. The city attracts a large number of tourists around China every winter. Enditem
