FRANKFURT, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 136.20 points, or 1.10 percent, to close at 12,210.21 points.
Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.52 percent, followed by sportswear and equipment maker Adidas and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies, which lost 2.45 percent and 1.96 percent respectively.
Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank and industrial giant Thyssenkrupp were the top three winners, rising 1.72 percent, 1.09 percent and 0.86 percent respectively.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 233.12 million euros (269.48 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
