YINCHUAN, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Kenyan runners took both the titles of the 7th International Marathon of Ningxia (Wuzhong) Yellow River Coast on Sunday in the Wuzhong city of northwest China's Ningxia Autonomous Region.
Cleophas Kiptoo Cheruiyot took the men's crown in 2 hours 26 minutes and 6 seconds, while Nancy Chepkurui snatched the women's title in 2:46:19.
In the men's race, Chinese runner Yang Lufeng finished fifth in 2:44:45.
According to the local organizers, the event, featuring marathon, half marathon and mini-marathon, attracted some 20,000 runners, including 44 foreign runners.
The northwest Ningxia region now has two international marathon races. The 2018 Yinchuan International Marathon kicked off on May 20 and attracted more than 23,000 athletes from China, South Korea, Ethiopia and Kenya.
