FRANKFURT, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- An unexploded World War II bomb weighed 250 kilograms was found Wednesday on a construction site in the western German city of Cologne, the press department of the city said via twitter.
The bomb, found in the district Deutz, has been identified as an English bomb with percussion fuze.
With evacuating around 200 residents within a 300-meter radius provisionally, the local government has planned to defuse the bomb the same day.
For ensuring public safety, the Deutz railway station remained closed for the moment since 4 p.m. and amid bomb disposal, the train service would be completely stopped.
