BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- A charity fair on targeted poverty alleviation is scheduled to run from September 20 to 22 in south China's metropolis of Shenzhen, the Ministry of Civil Affairs announced Monday.
The fair will showcase outstanding projects in poverty relief and accomplishment achieved in this area, to mobilize the energies of the society to promote poverty reduction, said the ministry.
The first China Charity Fair was held in Shenzhen in 2012, and five such events have since been organized, attracting more than 7,000 organizations with agreed projects worth nearly 32.5 billion yuan (4.8 billion U.S. dollars).
