BEIJING, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake of 7.5 magnitude jolted Papua New Guinea at 1:44 a.m. Monday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 6.19 degrees south latitude and 142.77 degrees east longitude.
The quake struck at a depth of 20 kilometers.
