LOS ANGELES, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Los Angeles Clippers crushed the Lakers 121-106 Friday night at the Staples Center, the home court for both teams.
Supported by more fans in the City of Angels though, the Lakers did not grasp any chance or show any capability to win the game, which stared with a 9-0 lead by Clippers in the first one and half minutes.
Six Lakers finished with double-digit points but they couldn't dig themselves out of the early hole.
On the contrary, the Clippers, led by Blake Griffin who returned from a 14-game absence, handed the Lakers their fifth straight loss with seven players scoring double figures.
Griffin posted a game-high 24 points, six rebounds and six assists, DeAndre Jordan took 12 points and 16 rebounds, while the Clippers' starting point guard Milos Teodosic, who suffered a left arm injury in the first quarter, collected 11 points and seven assists.
After the game, the Clippers ranked ninth in NBA's Western Conference while the Lakers stood the second lowest on the list.
