NEW DELHI, July 20 (Xinhua) -- India and the United States will hold their inaugural "2+2 Dialogue" on Sept. 6 in New Delhi, official sources said here Friday.
While India will be represented by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the U.S. will be represented by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defence Secretary James Mattis.
This new dialogue format is in pursuant to agreement reached between India and the U.S. during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Washington in June 2017.
The "2+2" meeting between the two sides will cover a broad range of bilateral, regional and global issues of shared interest, with a view to strengthening strategic and security ties between the two countries, added the official sources.
